The plan worked !!!

I made almost 900 Km after 12 hours and arrived to Mazatlan in the pacific; the bike rode perfect.

Looks like the problem was detected and fixed properly, however I have learn that you can not underestimate a ride in the desert.

Both the Arizona from close to Las Vegas to Nogales and the Sonora part from Nogales up to Los Mochis, has to be done carefully. The temperatures is around 55 Celsius and dry , it will test your bike and you for every weak point believe me. This time I carried water in the auxiliary tanks because there is no way to go around for a long time if you get stuck, now I understand these guys that died trying to cross the border to USA (see the pictures of the borders in the pics)

The most common failures in cars and bikes are batteries that collapse because of heat as the water evaporates, you have to wake up early (3AM) and ride until 10 or 11 am depending on the clouds (usually none), remember the guy that suggest me that ? He was dam right in this part (not at what time the border open).

To my surprise as soon as I got to Los Mochis , the climate changed, humid and cooler, you can feel the presence of the sea.

The other concern was the gangs problems, this is the area (up to Mazatlan) where the most critical security problems are (as per the locals) I wasn't very happy to be stopping in the higwauy with a problem around here; the truth is that it doesn't look unsafe at all, scenery is more rich in crops and people and everybody was friendly, honestly I felt safer than in the previous area considering the climate challenges.

I got to a Hotel with a beach and had a swim in the ocean, the views are fantastic !!!!

Now I'm planing to get up to Guadalajara to visit a BMW dealer and change battery, the heat probably affected mine as it was dry in my first problem, I added water (drinking water at that time) and I'll try to find a regulator and a temp switch as spare parts, if they don't have it I'll ask for them to be send to Puebla to the dealer over there.

Thanks for following and I hope you like the story and pictures (again go to the pics Mexico), please push for the fund raise

Cheers
