The most striking blue sky ever, welcomed me to Argentina all the way from Jama......

I crossed to Argentina yesterday at noon.......one month and four days after leaving Calgary on Sunday July 12th , the ride from Jama to Jujuy was surrounded by mountains, llamas, vicuñas, frozen lakes, salt deserts, and the most incredible blue sky you can imagine...only crossed by few white clouds that, imitating a flag, anticipated the arrival to Argentina soil.

The 500 km felt only like 10 and made me forget the cold I find at the 4800 mts of altitude;

the plans changed and I did not stop at Susques but ride all the way to Jujuy passing through the start point of the Quebrada de Humauaca, and Punamarca, a beautiful town framed by the 7 colors hills.

The ride has no problems and the road is perfect, the “Cuesta de Lipan” arriving to Jujuy, is an area with twisted roads and amazing scenery, that gives you a glimpse of the beauty you'll find in the area.

 I've visited beautiful places in this two days and I will expand on that tomorrow, today...... I want to celebrate the arrival to Argentina.........The point marked on the site map is the border between Argentina and Chile.....I will leave that mark until leaving Jujuy....look at the pics, I hope they can tell you more about the ride than my limited words ........

Cheers........

 The best advice for an obsessive rider

 ".....Do not use any maps.......do not plan.......the only important thing is to travel light, then, just ride, ride down south, Argentina is at the end of the continent, there is no way you'll miss it....."
