Peru the land of the wind.....!!

I crossed to Peru yesterday morning, customs took more than expected (two hours) and I'm glad I didn't try in the evening I got there. Here is a rule : never cross borders late !!!!! they are not predictable. In this case the problem was me and not the bike, they took forever to stamp the passport because there was only one guy for everything.

The scenery changed immediately after crossing, from bananos trees to rice plantations !!!! sometimes it looked like Asia (never been there but like some movies I saw …..) , when rice plantations start to fade, then the sea appeared and the ride was beautiful having the dry desert in my left and the sea in my right.

All the small town crossed were full (but full full no kidding ) of moto taxi...again looked like those Vietnam or China movies, this moto taxi has flooded all cities at very low cost (U$S 3500) and are small engines (125 CC) than run very cheap on gas. You can see those transporting everything....fridges, people, animals, crops, etc.

See the pics session for more views, however here is the caveat...pretty much all my pics are taken while riding (kind of a rule and necessity) therefore you'll see all in roadside and sometimes the quality is not the best as my camera has not vibration control; apologizes but I believe if I stop all tomes it wouldn't be the kind of picture I like.

I arrived to Piura and they warned me that I will be heading towards a desert of 200 Km to reach Chilclayo, I prepared myself with water, gas and lot's of sunscreen.....wrong...it was cold windy and sand crossed the road like bullets. The emptiness was complete and I the crack in my windshield (right side) started growing because the pressure, I was concern it will reach the border and collapse.

Finally I arrived to Chilclayo ok, I decided to do something with it otherwise I'm afraid it won't last and without windshield the ride will be very uncomfortable. I went to a glass store (repairs, etc) and we put some holes in the edge of the cracks to stop the growth and I did a acrylic “sandwich” to hold the crack, will see........

Today I will be going south but I can't find cities big enough, therefore sorry if there is no posting as Internet will be an scarce resource pretty soon.
