My friends in jalisco
I went yesterday to meet the guy that Chamuco referred to me, nothing prepared me for the warm welcoming of Fernando Magno, his first words were :...stay tonight...you can sleep at home and we'll talk. I thank the offer but at this pace it will take me a year to get to Argentina and we decide to talk, have lunch and then I'll try to make it up to Morelia.
Fernando did this trip from Guadalajara to Ushuaia twice, both in 1200 GS; he name his bikes (he has 2 gs1200 BMW and 2 Ducatti) like persons.
The first adventure was done with the “Calambres” (Cramp) he put that name to the bike because it vibrated a lot, he decided to disassemble the engine and balance the crank shaft because the manufacturing tolerances were too high.....(he has a shop)
The second trip was with the “Furia” (Fury) , this because is red.....
He gave all details info of crossing and people, contact cards and he also called to Colombia and Panama to chat with the companies that made the plane transportation, the information he gave me is gold
We went for lunch at the “Birrieria el Chololo” a famous place where even the Pope went (no kidding the pictures are there), Chamuco brought his own especial Tequila (made for him) and we ate the most tasty goat eve and drunk the complete bottle of Tequila.....
in the birrierias (that I originally thought were places to buy beer) they cook the goat in clay ovens (cabrito en hornos de barro) and prepare tacos with them. I realized in there that I never ate a taco in my life until that moment.
Finally I left Guadalajara at 5 PM, with my belly full and surrounded by friends, I'm bringing with me the most beautiful memories of Jalisco and their people and left a bunch of friends that I hope to see again.
I made it to Morelia and the rain welcoming me to town, the place looks like a colonial city that was stop on time in 1600, really beautiful, I'll take some pictures, eat some local stuff and try to give my respects to a friends parents that lives here (Alfonso, he already send me all the instructions).
Today I have to go to Puebla and I'll be passing close to Veracruz after that.
