I have a plan !!

The good news is that today I disassembled the fan from the bike and looks that the bearings are broken, all indicates the problem is there. The bad news is that there is no spare part close or that can be tracked, I order one coming from California that we'll be here on Tuesday, my concern in waiting is that even thought all mechanics I talked on the phone agrees that this looks like the most probable reason,... if it is not, I will loose three more days.

I squeeze my brain (or what's left) and something pop out, I remembered a mechanic from Calgary that works BMW and owns a 650 , he has no spare but and he referred me to a guy in Tucson (Frank) that used to work for BMW and now has his own shop...may be he has some ...my friend said.

I called Frank (he was in his car traveling to California) and offer me to meet in Tucson tomorrow noon (he'll be back then) to try to see if one of the fans he has in the shop can work.

I rented a car and tomorrow I'll be in Tucson at noon (400 Km from Hermosillo), I will try to repair the fan come back and install it Saturday night to test the bike and see if I can leave on Sunday. I will ask the guys here in Hermosillo to ship the new  spare to Guadalajara and I'll pick it up there in a BMW shop (1000 Km from here) in my way.

If all this doesn't work my plan B is flying back to Calgary and start again in the GS 1200 (my other bike bigger than the 650). Frank told me to stick to the 650 because is easier to repair in isolated places than the 1200 (that's the reason I choose the 650 in the first place), but if I can't fix the bike with the spare in Tucson, I'll be loosing at least a week moving the bike to a dealer.

The travel in this places with no services creates this situations where minor stuff is a big deal, I guess this is part of the features of this trip, not easy believe me.

The best thing that happened is that I meet Luis and his wife, he is the dealer of Honda in Hermosillo and treat me liked family, really a nice person, they've done all they could, you can't ask for more, there is really good guys out there !!!!!

Today I've loaded some pics about the problem, here is the situation when I stopped and put the triangle

before the truck

after the truck......

that's when I change fuses and try to revive the machine

this is when the truck got fire when we arrived to Hermosillo

this is when changing trucks.....

this is the bad guy :

I hope things improve, thanks for the support
